Hunting with Emmet was good for me. Sometimes the fact that Emmet takes nearly anything seriously is good. He managed to get me out of the whole “doom and gloom” mood I was in that day. I know we shouldn’t play with our food but since I was with Emmet we fought with a few grizzly bears and I was able to get my mind off things a bit. Poor bear, with Emmet around, bears should immigrate to a safer place, with no playful vampires around.

We've had no visitors for a week and I was hoping that Aro would back off a notch, I didt hope he would forget Alice and stop dreaming of her joining his coven that was just waste of time. Aro had to get Alice in his Volturi guard even if this meant he would have to kill us all.

I believe we were still alive because of the Volturi not wanting immortals to question the Volturi’s good name. They wouldn’t want to dirty their hands.

I made plans, I knew I was acting insanely but I couldn’t get out of my head the image of Alice next to Aro and Felix, her eyes a bright piercing red, I would do anything so Alice wouldn’t have to be forced to join their coven, I would even join the Volturi if I had to.

I was thinking about it while all the Cullens were gathered in our living room, doing nothing special, we were just hanging together. Edward was composing another song, Nessie near him at the piano chair enjoying the sweet music. Emmet was watching another football match, his arms wrapped around Rosalie’s waist. Carlisle was lost in his book; I think even with the vampire abilities he could barely hear us. Esme was making small notes in her notebook about redecorating our house. My Alice was scolding Bella for her lack of interest in fashion, Bella was rolling her eyes. And I was pretty sure Jacob was patrolling with Leah and her brother.

But I was so lost in my thoughts that I didn’t notice that everyone slowly left the living room, except Edward, I was so used to him playing the piano I didn’t question why he was playing so long. After a few minutes he stopped abruptly, I looked up at him, this wasn’t natural when Edward was playing he always stopped, somehow smoothly.

“Jasper, stop thinking about it!” He snapped at me.
“You’re overreacting” He continued. Of course I should have considered that he would read my thoughts, why didn’t I think of that? Too late now.

“Look Alice can’t see it yet, because you haven’t decided anything, but how do you think she will act if she sees that? She will do the same thing you want to do." I immediately froze, I hadn’t thought of that.

“I will warn her if your plans get any more specific, be sure I will.” he told me. I tried to talk but I couldn’t. I hadn’t move an inch since Edward stopped playing and I felt that my bones would smash any moment. Again the image of Alice was stuck in my head. Motionless, Cold, her eyes a bright red.

I tried to convince myself, she wouldn’t join the Volturi, that’s when I felt Alice -who had come in too silently even for me to hear-kissing my neck. We eagerly moved to our bedroom trying not to destroy the stairs. Alice would never leave me, she loves me and I know that, I can see it when I look in her eyes, I can feel it, with all that’s in me.
